General (Rtd.) Dr. Karangi is a retired General of the Kenya Defense Forces and currently the Chairman of National Social Security Fund, Board of Trustees. Until 4 May, 2015 he was the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces which is the highest-ranking military officer in the Kenya defence forces and the principal military adviser to the President of the Republic of Kenya.
Gen (Rtd.) Dr. Karangi has received military training in Kenya, the United Kingdom, India and the United States of America. He has earned his stripes in the Military starting as a Cadet in the Kenya Airforce to a Major General, Lieutenant General and General.
Gen. (Rtd.) Dr. Karangi holds a Masters of Science (MSc) in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester (UK), a Honorary Doctorate on Humane letter (Honoris causa) from Kenyatta University and is also a recipient of several state honours namely Elder of the Golden Heart (EGH), Chief of the order of the Burning Spear (CBS) and Distinguished Conduct Order (DCO).
Dr. James Obuya Bagaka has extensive experience and expertise in Public Administration, Policy and Strategy.
He has over 12 years’ experience in Public Finance and Budgeting, Governance, Capacity building, Research and Policy Development in both the public and private sectors. Currently, Bagaka provides advisory and consultancy services to public and private organization. Previously, Bagaka worked as the Technical lead on Governance and Institutional strengthening for a DFID-funded program: The Sustainable Urban Economic Development (SUED).
He has a PhD in Public Administration (from Northern Illinois University, USA); M.A. Public Administration (Minnesota State University-USA); B.A. Political Science & Philosophy (University of Nairobi). He is also a Member of the Commonwealth Association of Public Administration and Management.
Mr. Garang Diing Akuong holds a Masters Degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies - University of London and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Alexandria University in Egypt.
He has served as the Republic of South Sudan Ambassador (Head of the Mission), to USA, Former National Minister of Energy and Mining, Commerce, lndustry and Investment, Former Member of National Legislative Assembly, Member South-North Sudan Boundary Committee, Former Northern Bhar el-Gazal State Minister of, Health, Parliamentary Affair, Agriculture and Finance. He also has over 10 years’ experience working with International organizations in Sudan, for example the World Food Programme and Catholic Relief Services
Mr. Yacoub Kenyi Leju was appointed as a Board Member to the Board of KCB Bank South Sudan on 1st August, 2018. He is currently working as a Finance Secretary, South Sudan Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture, Juba from 2011 todate. He also doubles up as a Freelance Academician and Business Consultant in Juba from 2010 to date. Previously he was a Councilor, Juba City Council, South Sudan from 2011 to 2013, a Member of Parliament South Sudan Legislative Assembly from 2013 to2016 and worked as a National Air Traffic Control Officer, Sudan, Khartoum from 1985 to 2006. Mr. Leju holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from University of Juba, South Sudan and a Post Graduate Diploma, Commerce from Nilean University, Sudan.
His areas of expertise are in Lobbying & Advocacy, Project cycle Management, Capacity Building, Strategies and Initiatives, Human Resource, Performance Management, NGOs & Government, Financial Management, Risk, Proposal Development, Income Generating Activities and Governance

Roba Waqo Jaldesa, joined the bank in 1994 and brings a wealth of experience and expertise for his role. His main mandate is to provide overall leadership to business and company executive committee as well as develop and implement the company’s business strategy. He is responsible for driving business expansion and growth through innovative banking solutions designed to solve complex challenges. He is also actively involved in capacity building and has trained and mentored over 50 managers in all cross functional departments. This has propelled growth and cohesion of a high performing, motivated cross-cultural team that delivers beyond expectation.
Mr Jaldesa graduated from Kenya Method University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration- Marketing option. He has also done a couple of banking courses including Credit and accounting, Customer Service, Business Development, HR-employee relations, Credit analysis, loan appraisal & financial analysis, Internal risk taking and risk mitigation. His mastery in banking is top notch.
Previously, Roba has served as Head of Business Development- South Sudan, Senior branch manager, Operations manager and Project manager where is has continuously and successfully driven business growth for the bank and improved client satisfaction and retention.
He is married, a family man who believes in utilization of full potential and instilling positive impact in the environment he is in, ultimately self-realization as a consummate leader.
Lawrence Kimathi holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a merit from Warwick Business School UK, a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in accounting from United States International University – Africa (USIU) and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, CPA (K). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and Institute of Directors. His senior leadership experience spans over 25 years having worked as Finance Director/CFO in a number of multinational organizations which include Cadbury East and Central Africa, AIG, East Africa Breweries Limited, BAT Sub Sahara Africa and BAT PLC in London.
OTHER DIRECTORSHIPS: Lawrence serves in the KCB Uganda board and is a trustee of the KCB Staff Pension Fund defined benefit scheme.
Mary Oganga joined the Bank in 1993 and is currently working at Securities Documentation Centre as a Senior Legal Counsel. She is in Charge of Legal Documentation for Corporate Mortgage and Asset Finance Units she also supports KCB Group subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan in syndicated and project finance lending.
She has also worked as the Ag. Company Secretary and Head of Legal and Compliance Uganda from 29th January 2019 till 29th July 2019. She also worked in Legal Department from 2003 till July 2015 as a Legal Manager, Head Office and International Businesses.
She has experience in Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial work since 2005 and has served as the Company Secretary of KCB Bank South Sudan, KCB Bank Rwanda, KCB Foundation, Procurement & Credit Committees (KCB Ltd), she has from time to time supported in carrying out secretarial duties for KCB Capital, KCB Investment, NBK Credit Committee and KCB Group Risk Committee. Experienced Legal Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the financial sector.
Skilled in Corporate Law, International Law and Banking. On Professional qualifications and membership, she holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree and Masters in Law in Public International Law (LLM) from the University of Nairobi. She is an Accredited Governance Auditor and Certified Public Secretary from the Institute of Certified Secretaries and Certified Professional Mediator.
She is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East African Law Society, Instituted of Certified Secretaries and an Alumnus of International Law Development Organisation (IDLO).
Dr. Kinyua is the immediate former Head of Public Service. He has had an illustrious career spanning over 44 years in public service and has a wealth of experience in public administration. He is credited with the effectively holding a pivotal role in implementing key government initiatives and reforms including the liberalization of the banking sector, the foreign exchange market and the trade and capital accounts of the balance of payments among other initiatives.
Prior to his appointment as the Head of Public Services in 2013, he had served in various senior positions in the government, including as Permanent Secretary to the National Treasury.
Stephen Kagwima Njau is the Head of Information Technology, KCB Bank South Sudan Ltd. He joined the Bank in June 2017 and has over 13 years of experience in Information Technology and Banking including senior leadership position in Operations, KCB Bank South Sudan. He served at Spire Bank Limited Kenya as Senior ICT Manager. He also served at Liberty Commercial Bank, South Sudan as Head of Information Technology and Habib Bank Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Catholic University of East Africa and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. Stephen is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration in Strategic Management at Kenyatta University
John Joseph Kundi was appointed Head of Treasury at KCB Bank South Sudan Ltd in February 2019. He is a seasoned Banker with 10 years’ experience in Treasury Sales, Forex Trading and Money Markets. He started his career at KCB Bank Tanzania as a Management Trainee in December, 2010. Before joining KCB, he was an Internal Auditor at UBA Bank Tanzania. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Symbiosis International University in Pune [India], a Masters of Business Administration Majoring in Finance at Hamdard University in New Delhi, India and is a certified dealer with ACI Dealing Certificate (International Financial Markets Dealing Certificate).
Stephen Dut Deng joined KCB Bank in 2012 and is the Head of Business Development. He has over 8 years of work experience in Branch Operations, Business Analysis, Customer Experience and Business Development. Stephen Holds a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in (Finance) from Kabarak University –Kenya. Has attended various leadership trainings. Prior to Joining the bank, Stephen worked for the National South Sudan Disarmament Demobilization Reintegration Commission [South Sudan] as an Assistant Coordinator –Programs. He is also a Board Member with a local NGO – Coalition for Humanity (CH).
Ronald Okero was appointed Head of Human Resources, KCB Bank South Sudan Ltd in August 2019. He has over 12 years of work experience spanning senior management roles including, Head of HR Service Delivery [Letshego Holdings Ltd], Regional Human Capital Business Manager [CFC Stanbic Bank Ltd], HR Manager Operations, Reward & Talent Analytics [Bharti Airtel], Senior Manager Compensation & Benefits [KCB Bank Kenya], HRMI Analyst [Barclays Bank of Kenya Ltd (ABSA)]. Ronald Holds a Bachelor of Science (BSC) in Applied Information Technology from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology[Australia], Higher Diploma in Human Resource [College of Human Resource [Kenya], Certificate in Human Resource Practices from Cornell(USA). He Is also a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management of Kenya.
Henry Namachanja is a Seasoned Banker with vast experience, spanning over 15 years in the Banking Industry, as Senior Internal Auditor. He joined KCB Bank South Sudan in January 2020 as Head of Internal Audit. He brings wealth of experience in Internal Controls, Risk Management and Corporate Governance. Before joining KCB Bank South Sudan, he worked for Equity Group Holdings PLC as Head of Internal Audit, South Sudan where he set-up the Internal Audit function and Internal Audit Manager at Equity Bank Kenya. Henry started his banking career in the year 2002 at Oriental Commercial Bank (Former Delphis Bank) as Internal Audit and Compliance Officer. He worked for The Nairobi Hospital as an Accountant from the year 2000 to July 2002.
Henry holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM) from Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK). He is a member, associate member and sustaining member of the following professional bodies respectively: Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK); Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA).
Granton Ndungwa was appointed Head of Finance for KCB Bank South Sudan Ltd in Jan 2018. He has a strong background in Finance, Strategy, Financial reporting and Research. He has served as Finance Manager for KCB Capital, KCFC (Kenya Corporate Finance Company) and KCB Bank Kenya Finance between 2008 and 2015. Prior to joining KCB, Granton worked for United States International University in Finance. He also did research for Afro Barometer International, Plan International and International Labor organization. He holds BA Economics major, CPAK Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, ACCA (Association of Charted Certified Accountants), and currently pursuing MA Economics. He is a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
